Am Markt 12-13 Romantik Hotel Adelshof, Schwabisch Hall

Description

Actually well located and the food looks nice too. Problem: Too small portions and rather tasteless food. In addition, it took about an hour for the order to arrive. The staff were friendly. Conclusion: Nice location and good selection but unfortunately not particularly good food and a price that is far too high for small portions.

A promising restaurant and kitchen concept with disappointing implementation As guests of the beautiful Romantik Hotel Der Adelshof, we were very impressed by the new concept of the hotel restaurant: Two different room designs (traditional-classic and cool-modern) and corresponding cooking directions (Swabian kitchen classics and NEO Fusion). For this purpose, the guests are informed very informatively that both the seats in the restaurant rooms and the dishes from both kitchen offers can be chosen arbitrarily. The combination of appetizers and main courses is possible to your own taste. While the classics such as Zwiebelrostbraten, Gaisburger marsch, Käsespatzle or Maultaschen need no further explanation, this looks a bit different with the NEO fusion dishes. In the introduction to the menu, it is explained that classic recipes are broken down and put together again - the chef calls the NEWCO - which stands for newly combined. In the further course of the intro the high claim is mentioned, which one wants to fulfill as the first house in the square. For example, with the lenses, spaetzle and string sausages explained on the card: "That's all already said - except the self-confident hint that the lenses are perhaps the best in the country." We were completely impressed and looked forward to a culinary experience of the extra class in the hotel restaurant. We chose a combined selection of dishes to try both cooking styles. Unfortunately, the quality of the food could not meet our expectations. My Ceasar Salad Soup was served according to the concept of "newco" - but apparently the cook did not do the "composing" of the components - the result was sobering: I could eat the pieces individually, but the overall taste experience remained very rudimentary. Even the bouillabaise "extra dry" could only live up to its description: Extra Dry - The fish was dry and dead. The worst was still ahead of us. The Swabian classic lentils with spaetzle and Saitenwürstle, which I had enjoyed countless times in this region, and had always tasted very good in every simple inn, was served with lukewarm in the core still cold lentils. They were inedible and I had to complain to the court. On the second try, I found that the lentils were now being heated in the microwave long enough, so the cook decided on the spaetzle, which, by the way, tasted only the water in which they were heated, this time without the melted / roasted onions to serve ..... I've never eaten so bland-tasting spaetzle before! The string sausages were of very good quality - they came from the Schwäbisch-Häller-Erzeugergemeinschaft. If I now think of the self-confident statement: "Probably the best in the country", that sounds like sheer mockery. Every housewife can prepare this regional dish better and tastier. If already so full-bodied with superlatives is advertised, then the guest with a price of 16,50Euro can also assume that Alblinsen are processed, which was also not true. At this point I would like to mention that the lenses were taken from me - this is not a substitute for the best in the country, on which I was very happy. To sum up, I can only say: A highly interesting kitchen and restaurant concept, which is currently not implemented convincingly and is miles away from his own claim. This is a pity, because the premises in the Ratskeller and the Town Hall meet all the requirements for such a promising interesting kitchen concept.
